I needed to revisit some stuff I had lying around for far too long, unfinished, looking at me, judging. I started this piece back in September, but got tired really quickly with all the shading and whatnot. Picked it up today and finished it, more or less. This painting was very, very heavily inspired by the track "Blood Red Skies" by Judas Priest. As such, with all the big hair and kitschy lighting, it's my kind of tribute to the 80's and its campy heavy metal art.
remember me sara connor (terminator) i like this!! is amazing!!!
Gawd!! she looks awesome!!
She looks bad-ass and so is her pose! Plus, I just the detailed muscle definition on her entire body. Fantastic job done!
Seriously fit seriously muscular ..
Best I've seen from you. ...............nice muscular definition .........this is Really Fine ............keep it up .............thanks
Magnificent shading, absolutely masterful!
Thank you, friend! I'm happy you like the shading, it took the lion's share of the time I spent on this piece (as opposed to the muscle structure for example, it was defined very early on)
Really nice post-apocalyptic mood. Good job
Thank you! I think I could've made it even more post-apo if I made more detailed and damaged buildings, but laziness and eagerness to share did prevent me.
OK now THIS is godlike! LOVE IT!
Holy crapolie! That's awesome!
Thank you, happy you like it enough to warrant two sentences!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Intense. Love the look of this piece.
More brilliantly intense work, nice! I was going to say, even from the thumb my first thought was 'so '80s'
Many thanks, Simon! It isn't 80's in execution, but I'm glad I could hint at it im style and feel.
A great piece of art for a great song by a great band. When I listen to Priest, that's one of the the first tracks that comes up.
I'm happy you like the picture as a fan of the band, and same here with Priest - I often begin listening with that piece. It's a shame that I've only discovered that track a few months ago, even though I've listened to Priest for more than seven years now. This track reminds me very much of how I felt in high school, and I'm sure I would love it to bits back then.
Ever been to one of their concerts? I've only managed to catch two but I can tell you one thing for sure. Sick? Consult a doctor. Injured? Consult a doctor? Score front row seats to a Judas Priest concert? Consult a doctor. The amp was so intense it nearly blew me off my feet and my heart didn't settle down into a normal beat for three days straight. One of my favorite memories ever, it helped that the music was outstanding
I'm happy you could go a Priest concert! I wasn't so lucky - when they were close I was either oblivious to them coming, or too young and therefore not wealthy enough to buy a ticket and the trip there and back home. I only managed to get to an Iron Maiden concert in 2008, they played their classic stuff from before Somewhere In Time and it was cheap enough for me to afford. It also was one of a kind experience, especially because Bruce's voice was still young enough and capable of reaching those really high notes. Good memories.
